For pupils in the 8th and 9th grades, the topic of career choice has long been an integral part of the curricula of secondary schools and grammar schools. They not only learn how to write applications, but are also actively looking for suitable positions for internships and trial courses. In most cases, however, you can only get to know a narrow field of job profiles. Companies such as the F.EE Group from Neunburg vorm Wald offer a valuable supplement. Last week, in cooperation with the Association of Bavarian Metal and Electrical Employers, the specialist for automation technology once again organised its training days, during which around 400 pupils – a total of 16 classes from six different schools – were guests within one week. The secondary schools from Neunburg, Waldmünchen, Bruck, Nabburg and Oberviechtach as well as the Ortenburg Gymnasium Oberviechtach took part.
The special: In the so-called info truck, a walk-in truck full of state-of-the-art technology, the pupils were able to get to know several job profils with their typical tasks in the broad spectrum of electronics and metalworking on two levels. Nowhere else can you learn within a very short time how a milling machine works and try it out for yourself, how to program the control system for an elevator in such a way that it really always reaches its destination in the best possible way afterwards in the display model, or how a large automobile factory works in 3D simulation on the oversized touch TV, from goods receipt of the components through body-in-white to assembly and the complete logistics behind it. All in all, a fascinating world of technology, as the enthusiastic eyes of the pupils were reporting afterwards. After each class, F.EE also provided an exclusive look behind the scenes. The exciting factory tours started in the 20,000 square metre mechanical engineering halls at the central location, where the most diverse components for automation technology and robotics are manufactured, and ended in the Industriestrasse in Neunburg, where F.EE designs control cabinets and controllers for the most modern industrial applications in the electronics sector on more than 10,000 square metres.
The public also made use of this rare insight in the open afternoon in the middle of the event week. Even more interested young people were able to get closer to the hopefully perfect career choice together with their parents.
The selection of candidates for the start of training in 2020 is already underway at F.EE, but applications are still possible.
