The F.EE group, the specialist for automation and software from Neunburg v. W., has once again placed its strongest focus on the SPS IPC Drives, which takes place annually in Nuremberg. From 27 to 29 November, a large number of trade visitors from a wide variety of industries were able to see various new developments and software updates for industrial applications. The ten-strong F.EE team presented the topics enterprise software (ERP system), digitization of production, process visualization, MES (Manufacturing Execution Software) and - as the main focus of the fair - virtual commissioning using the F.EE simulation software fe.screen-sim.

The new version 4 of fe.screen-sim, the software for more efficiency, plannability and risk optimization in the commissioning of machines and plants in the fields of materials handling, logistics, mechanical engineering and robotics, was presented for the first time at the trade fair and proved to be a real magnet for visitors. Because so-called digital twins can now be represented as realistically as never before and at the same time the significantly extended range of functions, the completely revised software architecture and the newly created openness of the system including various new interfaces ensure increased added value and application advantages, the new development represents a quantum leap, according to Werner Pospiech, Sales Manager for F.EE software products.

F.EE Managing Director Hans Fleischmann was pleased about new cooperations and partnerships in the field of simulation software during his visit to the trade fair. The company attached great importance to openness and expandability in order to guarantee customers easy integration into their own infrastructure and to create flexible possibilities for extensions, said Fleischmann. Thanks to a cooperation with MathWorks, both numerical calculations based on MATLAB® and the modelling of technical and physical systems using Simulink® can now be integrated as part of a simulation. A new partnership with ABITRON GmbH, a leading manufacturer of radio remote controls for industrial applications, enables fe.screen-sim to be used, for example, for virtual crane training including realistic vibration behaviour. Visitors had the opportunity to extensively test this live on site and via virtual reality and to prove their skills as virtual crane operators in the 3D environment.
