Hydropower projects

Illerkraftwerk Au, Germany

In the new construction of the Illerkraftwerk Au, F.EE Wasserkraft was responsible for the higher-level control system with dynamic water level control. The power plant is particularly characterized by the use of the VLH turbine, which has been developed for rivers with heads between 1.5 and 3 meters, and is used here for its advantages in terms of efficiency, flexibility, low noise and ecology. Here, the operator, Illerkraftwerk Au GmbH, provides many further information on the project.

Project Data

  • Power station with two VLH turbines (Very Low Head).
  • Head: 1.32 to 2.32 meters.
  • Rated output: 450 kW per turbine.
  • Flow rate: 54 m³ / sec.
